“One of the most obvious things for me with PTSD is that I would act out physically in my sleep with night terrors and I would speak, give commands in Arabic. Because of the acting out I realized it was time to start dealing with it.
“Tanna sleeps in bed with me and if I’m starting to get restless, she’ll lick my face and wake me up. Then I don’t have night terrors.
“Just the companionship alone with Tanna helps calm me down in situations where I start having anxiety, like being in groups. She lets me know if people are getting in my comfort zone.”
